I was reading this on another forum, and thought I'd see what members here thought. I figure this is a discussion/debate, but if I'm wrong, feel free to move this to the correct location.

But you should also not take what I say seriously because they chances are that I'm just kind of drunk and bored; I'm not being serious. Trolling, etc; sad thing is that even though I say this, I will STILL get whined at.

I think it's a little silly to base such things as being depressed or anxiety-ridden of things as simple as having a penis or vagina. Some of the points raised aren't totally accurate and all that, but I still thought I'd share this with everyone for the sake of gathering opinions.

Ah, this is the whole 'which sex is more advantaged in society?' question. I hope that the part that was written after the first was written sarcastically. I think that part is intended to be a reductio of how absurd the logic of the first post is.

I didn't vote because I don't think we should say who should have the right to be depressed based on their gender. Everyone has a right to be depressed for one thing or another. It has nothing to do with gender. Being a woman isn't perfect. I imagine being a male isn't perfect. Certainly not as perfect as those quotes make them out to be. To be honest they're very narrow, one sided arguements that in my opinion, don't hold much merit. I mean, periods AND Testosterone act as a get out of jail card? That's ridiculous xD It just looks like they were either posted by the same user, or something has come along and trolled the original poster.

It's good to see you posting and taking part actively in the community once again, SMFoxy.

Both points at the bottom (Or at least I read it as such) say they are trolling, but if anyone actually thought this on a serious level, I'd have to say thing...

However the two that wrote these points in my (PERSONAL) opinion are... To be quite frank... Moronic Idiots. To think that someone has even a RIGHT to be depressed over their Gender (Obviously excluding people who feel they're Gender A trapped inside of a Gender B's body) is absurd.

For example, as a male, I know that most, if not all women have periods every month (Taking in account of Exotic Medical Circumstances) as a male that'd make me depressed at least. And don't get me started on child birth! So the guy who wrote his arguements... His points are moot.

As for the female that wrote that... Testosterone is NOT a get out of jail card. It's certainly not an excuse to act any way we want. We don't have more rights (Not in this country anyway) and what is this shit about catering? Me and my partner treat each other as equals. So she does the washing up and cleaning sometimes. I do all the cooking, and also clean up (sometimes) When I'm not busy.

It's complete horsecrap. Now losing your family, in a tradgic accident, or having nothing left to live for. That's a damned good reason to be depressed.

So I guess my side is, neither. Which I recommend is made into an option for the poll.

I figured if people thought it was neither, they just wouldn't vote anyway, but the option has been added, thanks for the suggestion.
The posts were made by two different people to my knowledge, and the second is just a response to the first in the interests of representing both points of view. It's possible that it was a dual account though, I have no way to know.

I think there are more things to be depressed about than basing it on gender and whatever 'reasons' were raised here. For example, as Tripp said, losing your family in an accident. In the long term you might get over it, but you'd pretty damn depressed in the mean time.

I have to agree with Tripp... The statements that "these two people" have come up with looks like the kind of brain-dribbling-out-of-the-ear-while-fapping-to-twilight shit that belongs on Gaia Online or something. Was this site you got it off, Gaia Online by any chance?

Everyone has a right to be happy or sad, so there is no big deal in my opinion.
However, there always will be people who claim that one sex, race or ethnic background has rights beyond or below that of a normal human being. I wouldn't give them too much attention.
