When I first read the title, I thought you meant Pluto the Disney character. Anyways... Pluto the planet hmm? I read somewhere before that Pluto isn't a part of our solar system anymore. Not really sure though so... o.o

That's kinda true. I've grown up thinking there are 9 planets in our solar system, Pluto included, so I don't really know why they decided to take it out the list. P:

No one ever said Pluto wasn't a part of the solar system. The scientists don't lie and although I respect my opponent for posting this debate, I think his/her attitude towards science is barbaric at best. I'd expect this level of unwarranted hate towards scientists from an insanely religious person or someone from the 1440's. And erm... Sorry to burst your bubble here. But Scientists can call it a great big pink elephant floating in space. Because at the end of the day. While the rest of the world was fearing non-existent gods in the time that science was a curse/witchcraft/wizardry/tabboo they INCORRECTLY labelled Pluto as a planet. (As they didn't know any better) And also they used to think we were the centre of the system. But we're not. Things change. Definitions get re-defined, it's apart of our evolutionary process. To say Scientists don't have the right to classify Pluto as a dwarf planet, is like saying that Scientists don't have the right to of classed it as a planet in the first place. So I'm afraid your argument is a catch 22.

- It orbits the Sun
- It is large enough for gravity to squash it into a sphere
- It must have cleared its orbit

No problem. I pretty much knew it already, I like many was disheartened when they kicked Pluto out of the club of planets of the the Solar System. But I realised it was for the best. I've enjoyed posting about my favourite topic, Space. And as my opponent in views of the matter, I thank you for creating a topic that I was able to shine through and the wonderful opportunity to set correct some wrongs that were put forward.
